III Regional Meeting on Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) Modeling
02 Sep 2010
03 Sep 2010
Buenos Aires, Argentina
The 3rd meeting on Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) Modeling Network for Latin America and the Caribbean is organized by the Inter-American Development Bank’s Integration and Trade Sector and the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), in collaboration with the Institute for the Integration of Latin America and the Caribbean (IDB-INTAL).
This network provides researches and policy makers working on the Latin American and Caribbean region with a space for methodological and policy discussion. On one side it widens the modelers’ knowledge on new areas of CGEs’ scope of analysis and on the other it gives them feedback about the policy questions of interest for the policy makers. In this sense, the objectives of the meeting are to create a unique space for interactive dialogue among top modelers with focus on the region and strengthen the analytical capacity for the analysis and evaluation of public policy.
More than 25 participants from across the Latin American and Caribbean region will present their analysis and policy recommendations at the event, in areas such as trade and fiscal policy, poverty, climate change, and transport costs. There will be also a set of sessions focused on the analysis of the Crisis of 2008, its effects and lessons learned for the future.
