Regional Policy Dialogue: "Violence Against Women: Moving Towards Evidence-Based Solutions"

The IDB Gender and Diversity Division will celebrate its First Regional Policy Dialogue of the gender Equality Network on December 4th and 5th. Participants will be high-level policy makers primarily from social development and women’s ministries, academics, non-governmental leaders, and IDB staff.

With the title "Violence against Women: Moving Towards Evidence-Based Solutions", the main objetives of the Dialogue will be:

  • Exchange promising approaches for preventing violence against women (VAW) and providing quality services for survivors.
  • Discuss how to improve data collection and generate more evidence that supports policy making.
  • Explore the potential of partnerships for innovation in VAW initiatives in the LAC region.

Each session will begin with guest speakers who will trigger the discussion. This will be followed by an interactive space for dialogue and knowledge exchange in which participants can share their countries’ initiatives, lessons learned and/or results.
