Finance, Fintech and the Future of Banking in the Caribbean Basin

Date: 04 Oct 2016 to 06 Oct 2016

Time: 2:00 PM

Location: Washington, DC, OAS Main building - 17th St. , United States

The effort to fight against money-laundering and the financing of terrorism is a global priority, with financial services institutions on the front lines as it relates to implementing the procedures to ensure that they are in compliance with international regulatory regimes.  Increasingly caught in the cross fire are emerging market economics like those of the Caribbean, where the perception of risk, and small market size have in some cases resulted in the withdrawal of correspondent banking relationships and other critical services associated with trade, remittances and ultimately impacting negatively the important tenet of financial inclusion.

This is a two and a half day event to look at how regional countries and financial institutions can develop and strengthen financial services that will ensure stability within the services sector, while mitigating risk and meeting international compliance requirements.
