About the Annual Meeting

In late March or early April of each year, the Boards of Governors of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC) hold their Annual Meeting in one of the Bank's member countries. This gathering is a forum for discussion among the institutions’ Governors, most of whom are Ministers of Finance, Presidents of Central Banks, or other high-level authorities of the member countries. Representatives of multilateral financial institutions, development agencies, and private banks also attend.

In 2011, the Annual Meeting will take place in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, from March 25 to 28. A series of seminars on topics of interest to participants will be held prior to the opening of the meeting.

Participation at the Annual Meeting is by invitation. The list of special guests from each member country of the IDB and the IIC is updated yearly to include requests received after the previous Annual Meeting. The list is submitted to the Executive Director of the respective country for approval.

Businesses interested in being invited to the Annual Meeting should request an invitation from the Secretary of the Bank by sending an e-mail to AnnualMeeting@iadb.org. The deadline for requesting invitations is 28 February 2011.

Please note that there is no cost for registering. Guests are responsible for their own travel and lodging expenses.
