About the Annual Meeting
In late March or early April of each year, the Boards of Governors of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC) hold their Annual Meeting in one of the Bank’s member countries. This gathering is a forum for discussion among the institutions’ Governors, most of whom are Ministers of Finance, Presidents of Central Banks, or other high-level authorities of the member countries. Representatives of multilateral financial institutions, development agencies, commercial and investment banks, businesses and other private sector and civil society organizations also attend.
In 2012, the Annual Meeting will take place in Montevideo, Uruguay, from March 16 to 19. A series of seminars on topics of interest to participants will be held as part of the meeting.
Participation at the Annual Meeting is by invitation. The list of special guests from each member country of the IDB and the IIC is updated yearly to include requests received after the previous Annual Meeting. The list is submitted to the Executive Director of the respective country for approval.
Businesses interested in being invited to the Annual Meeting should request an invitation from the Secretary of the Bank by sending an email to AnnualMeeting@iadb.org including a brief description of the organization and a copy of its financial statements or charter.
The deadline for requesting invitations is 17 February 2012.
Please note that there is no cost of registration. Guests are responsible for their own travel and lodging expenses.
