II Financial Education Latin American Congress

The Latin American Congress of Financial Education is an initiative of the Latin American Banking Federation (FELABAN), which in 2011 had the support of the Association of Banks of Peru (ASBANC). The CLEF 2011 represents the largest regional gathering of its kind.

The objective of the CLEF 2011 was to allow knowing the knowledge of the way that public-and private partnerships and multilateral organizations approach financial education and the challenges posed by technological innovations in financial products and services to deepen financial penetration and reduce informality.

Under the CLEF, was held the second session of the Latin American Financial Education where was presented the report of "Access to information and regional financial inclusion: Financial Education Program Latin American Private Financial Sector," which has worked with technical support from the Inter-American Development Bank.

The main topics covered were:

a. Innovation in access to banking products and services: financial inclusion.

b. Deficit of financial education in credit cards in Latin America

c. Transparency, conscious consumption and rights of financial consumers

d. Financial Education through online tools and social networks

e. Experiences in the financial frontier

f. Experiences in the microfinance sector

h. Financial Education Experiences in the public sector

i. Financial Education Experiences from the nonprofit sector

j. National Strategies for Financial Education

k. Initiation continental approach to financial
