Seminario Internacional de Inclusión Financiera para los sectores de la Economía Popular y el rol de las regiones

Micro and small enterprises in Ecuador have enormous potential to become an important engine of growth and employment in the country. Productive development can only occur if financial inclusion processes are implemented, expanding the supply of financial services including credit, savings, insurance, payments and transfers.

In this purpose, the Inter-American Development Bank, the Illustrious Municipality of Quito, the Central Bank and the Microfinance National Program are organizing the "International Workshop on Financial Inclusion in the popular economy" to be held on Friday, December 16, 2011 in Quito-Ecuador.

The workshop will be attended by national and international high-level experts which lectures will focus on financial inclusion as an objective of public policy at the macro, meso and micro arena, to show successful experiences of countries in the region such Colombia and Guatemala, and to show the specifics in the case of Ecuador.

The event will bring together government officials, major players in the financial system and Microfinance, and entrepreneurs, to create a space for discussion to consolidate the process of Financial Inclusion in Ecuador as a source of sustainable economic development.
