The development of the region is based on the efforts of governments and the private sector, to join efforts to generate new employment opportunities for all its inhabitants. The development of new business initiatives that create new businesses, jobs and sources of income and wealth is undoubtedly the basis for sustainable development of our countries.

Think global, but act local, it is the challenge that is imposed on the twenty-first century allows the use of the great opportunities of the globalized world, but bringing them to the territories where entrepreneurs are the protagonists of development.

To this end, the Inter-American Development Bank will host the "Regional Forum on Entrepreneurship, Employment and Local Economic Development", which will aim to disseminate good practices in regional and international organization representatives from central government, municipalities, NGOs and actors of Panama and Central America, on:

• National strategies and territorial employment generation

• Successful experiences of territorial enterprise

• Impact on poverty from territorial strategies for promotion of MSMEs.

• Methods and innovative instruments for rapid employment generation.
