Early Childhood Development in the Caribbean: identifying cost effective interventions

Conference to share the recent findings of three important studies on Early Childhood Development in the Caribbean funded by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) under two Technical Assistance Programs and sponsored by Social Protection and Health (SPH) and Education (EDU) Divisions of the  Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).

The studies were conducted over the period 2009-2013 and are intended to answer several questions as outlined below:
  1. Do early childhood  experiences affect development in the next generation? The Jamaica intergenerational study (Presenter: Professor Susan Walker).
  2. Parental Investment in Young Children and the Status of Early Child Development: Results from JAKIDS, the Jamaican Birth Cohort Study 2011 (Presenter: Professor Maureen Samms-Vaughan)
  3. Pilot of Parenting interventions in the Caribbean: Preliminary Results from the Impact Evaluation (Presenters: Christine Powell and Dr. Susan Chang).
