The Government of Argentina, through the Security Ministry and in conjunction with the IDB, will be holding the “Security Week” in Buenos Aires on September 26th-29th of this year. This is the leading regional event in the area of security and justice in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The Security Week emerges at the IDB as a means to offer policy makers in the field of security, as well as program directors in the areas of crime and violence prevention and control, a platform to exchange knowledge and experiences concerning the most pressing challenges in this matter. The event is comprised of two notable activities. First, the Regional Policy Dialogue in which the highest authorities of the region discuss the challenges and progress of security policies This event is by invitation, only for National Government Officials). And then the Training Clinic that facilitates the exchange of technical knowledge and expertise in the field.
Given that insecurity is one of the most pressing issues in Latin America and the Caribbean, significantly affecting social and economic development, this is an invaluable opportunity to exchange best practices and experiences which will allow us to work towards a safer, more prosperous region.
