Date: 02 Oct 2017 to 03 Oct 2017

Time: 8:00 AM

Location: Cartagena de Indias, Colombia

Every year, the Education Network’s Regional Policy Dialogue convenes authorities from the education systems of the 26 borrowing countries in Latin America and the Caribbean to share experiences, learn about best practices and explore areas of regional cooperation.

This event will be a great opportunity to discuss about the teacher reforms in the region, the lessons learned, and the remaining challenges to improve teacher effectiveness in Latin America and the Caribbean. The Dialogue has three main goals:

  • Explore the state of the teaching profession in countries of the region.
  • Analyze the reforms, policies and programs implemented in the last decades to attract, develop and select more effective teachers.
  • Discuss the effectiveness and the implementation challenges of these reforms, policies and programs, and propose recommendations to improve teacher quality in the region.
