The Inter-American Development Bank presents the 2017 edition of its flagship report Development in the Americas, entitled Learning Better: Public Policy for Skills Development.

Join IDB President Luis Alberto Moreno and authors  Julian Cristiá and Diana Hincapié from the IDB as they present the book. José Pablo Arellano (Director, CIEPLAN and former Ministry of Education, Chile), Adriana Kugler (Professor of Public Policy, Georgetown University and former Chief Economist, U.S. Department of Labor) and Miguel Urquiola (Professor, Columbia University) will be discussants and Jean Lebel (President, IDRC) will serve as moderator.

Despite governments’ best efforts, many people in Latin America and the Caribbean don’t have the skills they need to thrive. This book looks at what policies work, and don’t work, so that governments can help people learn better and realize their potential throughout their lifetimes.
