The Regional Public-Private Sector Dialogue: "Risks and Challenges in the path towards a New Financial Ecosystem", which will be held at the IDB headquarters (Andres Bello 1-2 room) in Washington D.C. on October 18th -19th, 2017. The event aims to strengthening and enabling an environment for dialogue between public and private actors in the financial sector in the Americas, with the sponsorship and organization of the IDB in collaboration with FABABAN and ASBA.

The Latin America and the Caribbean financial sector faces a series of challenges that can modify the demand and supply structure of services. As new Fintech platforms are competing with the traditional industry, this forces them to innovate in their processes and in the way of offering their goods and services. Policy makers in the region are creating regulatory and supervisory frameworks to ensure the consumer financial protection, healthy competition, and industry stability as Fintech has been taking on a larger share of demand.

The Financial Institutions Network Regional Policy Dialogue seeks to analyze, harmonize and integrate ideas and strategies encouraged by the control agencies as well as the financial institutions in Latin America and the Caribbean, to promote the development and strengthening of the financial sector and the financial inclusion. This year, with top-level guests, including the 2003 Nobel Prize for Economics, Robert Engle, and the participation of industry leaders and policy makers from across the region, we will initiate the conversation to find solutions and coordinate responses to future challenges.
