Information on media accreditation for journalists

Members of the media —print, photo, radio, TV, film, news agencies, and online media—wishing to cover the 58th Annual Meeting of the Inter-American Development Bank, to be held in Asuncion, Paraguay, must obtain a credential to attend the event.

To be accredited, you will need:

Reporters. Valid press credentials (with photograph) issued by the media they represent and a valid passport or identity document.

Freelancers (reporters and photographers). In addition to the above, a letter of assignment with the official letterhead of the media organization you represent, signed by the assignment editor indicating the name and duration of the assignment. The letter should be addressed to Paul Constance, Communications Division Chief, Office of External Relations at the IDB. It should be sent as a scanned document in jpeg or pdf format to AnnualMeetingMedia@iadb.org.

Online-only news media. In addition to the above requirements, the online-only news organization must have a fixed address and at least 50 percent of original reporting with a news dissemination purpose.

If such credentials are not held, or are in question, it will be at the discretion of the Inter-American Development Bank to determine whether or not access to the Annual Meeting will be granted.
Journalists who meet the above-mentioned requirements should register online. Online press accreditation for the 58th Annual Meeting is available using this form), which should be completed prior to March 24, 2017. Once the online application has been submitted, the IDB will verify these credentials and may request additional information.

After that date, members of the media may register in person at the Comité Olímpico compound, according to the following schedule:

Upon arrival in Asuncion, journalists should pick up their credential at the registration area. The press room will be located in  Salón A, Edificio Paraguayo.

General agenda information will be updated and posted on the Annual Meeting website. Photographs and video clips will also be made available at the website. The IDB press office will coordinate interview requests with executives and specialists from the IDB. Please specify subject of interest and deadline. The IDB press office does not coordinate requests for interviews with the official delegations. Journalists must contact the delegations directly to arrange interviews.
